Adding and Using the Relationships Field

Oftentimes, congregations include extended family or multi-generational families.  To help keep track of “who belongs to who,” the Relationships tab is customizable.  You will use this tab to connect one individual to another individual

Found in the right-hand column of the Demographics profile tab on the People page, the Relationships field is empty by default.

Adding New Relationship Options

Start by navigating to Utilities>Options and scroll and click on the Personal Relationships tab in the Navigation Pane.

Because it will be blank, click on the Add New Options button.

Type a description of the type of relationship you would like to connect people with. For example, “Parent.”

We’ve created a few simple options to use for this example.  You can be as descriptive as you would like, and you can always add more at a later time.

Using the Relationship Field

Once you have set up a few options for the Relationships field, let’s go back to the Profile page and walk through the use.

Clicking on the in the Relationships title bar, will show the pop-up window to Add Relationship.

For our example, Anthony Adams is the son of Matthew Adams and is also a relative of Jesse Adams.  Assigning a Reciprocal Relationship will also update the other individual’s profile.

After saving, the Relationships field should now look similar to this:

Pickup Status and Empower Check-in

This Relationships feature can also be used as an added layer of security during the check-in process.   To utilize this, you can keep track of those alternatively allowed or responsible for pick up.
