Understanding Households

Empower is designed to keep your data organized at multiple levels that apply specifically to ministry.  The Household page provides all of the tools necessary to manage your membership by Households or Households.  Because of the complexity of situations, multi-generation family units, and to leave room for you to organize members best, Empower uses the term Households.

Households page is found under the Membership Menu.  At the Top Menu of Empower, click on Membership, and choose Households in the drop-down menu.  This will navigate you to the Households page.

In the Navigation Pane, you will find a list of current Households in your database.

Ready to add a new household? Click Here for more detailed instructions.

Once a Household is selected, you will notice the profile tabs across the top of the detail pane (Contact, Attributes, Attendance, Notes, Attachments).  These tabs will access organized information about each Household.

Let’s walk through each of these to make sure you make the most of Empower.

Household Contact Fields

When you click on Contact in the Profile Tabs, Empower will load all contact information for selected the Household.

Each member of the Household is shown to the right, under Household Members.  Clicking these names will carry you to their profile on the People page.

Contact options include address information, phones, email, and more.  You can edit each of these details by clicking on the blue pencil icon (for profile fields), the three blue dots (for specific information), or clicking the blue sign to add a new detail.

Empower allows you to call, text, or email directly from the platform by clicking on the phone numbers or emails.

To send a text message or an email, view a conversation, or edit a detail, click the three blue dots to the right of the desired detail.

Household Status

Household Statuses are editable under Utilities>Options>Membership>Households.
